Some might call it a midlife crisis, but I’d say it was the opposite. It was a turning point. When my youngest no longer wanted me to walk her to school, I suddenly felt disconnected, like a piece of my purpose had faded away. As an experienced part-time nurse, I could have easily gone full-time, but I craved something more—something that aligned with my personal values and would help other women feeling lost or disconnected, just like I was.

I’ve always loved sewing. The quiet focus, the joy of learning and creating, and being surrounded by beautiful fabrics has always been special to me and I realised this passion could lead me to something bigger.

Bobbin & Spool was born out of the realisation that as women, we do so much for others and often forget to make time for ourselves. Too often, we blend into the crowd, losing sight of what truly matters to us. But it's okay to stand out, to be different—and I want women to be empowered to shine.
