Bobbin blog #4

Last week reminded me how “lifey” life can get — a reshuffled workday, late-night sewing fixes (yes, I unpicked a whole bag!), and the girls deep in Les Mis rehearsals.

In the past, I might’ve cancelled the “extras” — like the haircut I booked weeks ago. But I’ve learned those small things help me reset. We don’t build resilience by pushing harder. We do it by giving ourselves the little things that restore us.

So yes, I’m keeping the haircut. Even if it means sewing late again tomorrow night to finish something exciting: the Botanica Pattern Designs Collaboration, launching at the end of August.

Just 25 bags will be made from Mel’s beautiful, exclusive prints — and as ever with Bobbin & Spool, each one will be one-of-a-kind. If you see one you love, you’ll want to act fast.

Expect compliments. Expect admiring glances. These bags are designed to move through your busy day with you — practical, beautiful, and full of joy, whilst boosting your confidence and reminding you that you are noticed and appreciated.

If your week’s been a juggle too, you’re not alone. Take five minutes for something that fills your cup — it matters.

Also this weekend: I’ll be back at the fabulous Dorchester street market

Do come and say hello if you’re local! You may find some last-minute bags or accessories to take with you on day trips with the kids or your holidays abroad. I love seeing how far my bags travel, so do share your adventures together with me.
