The Studio Is Closed, But My Imagination Isn't

There's something about stepping away from the studio that makes the ideas come flooding in.

Running a small business means I'm usually thinking about the next market, the next order or the next collection. So taking a proper holiday feels both wonderful and slightly unfamiliar!

Whilst my sewing machine is taking a well-earned rest, my imagination certainly isn't. I'm always drawn to beautiful fabrics, interesting colour combinations and thoughtful design – and holidays are often where the best ideas begin.

Vibrant colours in the Medina with temptation at every step

Whether it's a vibrant market stall, a beautifully woven textile or simply colours that catch my eye, I can't help but return home inspired (and usually with a suitcase that's a little heavier than when I left!).

Autumn is already taking shape in my mind. New fabrics, new ideas and some of your favourite bag styles are waiting patiently for me to get back to my garden studio.

Sometimes the best thing we can do creatively is slow down for a while. A little rest often makes room for something beautiful to emerge.

I'm looking forward to sharing what comes next.
